Plan your work for today and every day, then work your plan.

“Plan your work for today and every day, then work your plan.”
-Margaret Thatcher

Why is planning important when it comes to social media? There are many reasons being organized and planning is so important in life, but when handling many social media accounts it’s especially important. You will thank us for advising monthly calendars, many edits, and several different angles of the same photo instead of picking and choosing on the fly!

It’s that time in the month where we go photograph new images for all of our accounts. This time is like Christmas every month!  We spend hours of styling and designing these shoots, editing the pictures we get from them, and making sure everything is just how we envisioned it. After all that, Phillip leaves us with a folder full of amazing shots. What is the first thing you want to do after viewing? I don’t know about anyone else, but I instantly want to share these amazing photos with the world right away. This is where I would choose the best photos to post based on my mood in that very second, but then I have to pull myself away and think back to my plan. It’s a good idea to have a plan of your captions and daily hash tags but the plan I am talking about is the visual plan. What is the flow to your Instagram? How does the photographer know what you are looking to get out of this shoot? This is important because when someone clicks on your account they are looking at your profile as a whole and not an individual photo.

Let me introduce to you my new best friend, content calendars! I breathe, sleep, and live off of these monthly. If I told you I didn’t think about these when going to bed at night I would be lying. These allow me to make sure each account feeds never have similar topics and pictures back to back, never have two busy photos back to back, and never have the same perspective back to back

This might seem like a lot to take in, but trust me it will make a world of difference for your brand. I truly believe that putting this much detail into your social media will make your page stand out and bring you business through social media.

Stay Social,
